Day 26
None of this makes sense anymore. I’ve dreamt of a more free country but as I see people recklessly destroy buildings and property that make no sense to this cause I’m deeply disappointed. We wanted our voices heard, we rallied to the streets but it things got too out of control. Words like “any means necessary, “stand united!” Black people are arguing at the ones who are trying to maintain order, labeling them the betrayers but this is dividing us. All this rage, anger, pain and hurt. How do I reach them? A gunshot fires through the air. What are we doing? Is this the country you want to live in? Ravaged streets, fires and chaos. We’ve come so far only to collapse on ourselves? Not like this. The point of all of this is to be different. To do things different. Not to become the oppressors we fought so hard to uproot. But to teach them, show them how we can co-exist. Your hate blinds you.
