The thing about authenticity is you have to be it in order for it to appear. At least that’s how I feel. I feel like I get this from black people a lot about leveling up. But pretending to be anything other than who I am is detrimental to my mental health and honestly my career. I am who I am. Now, I’m not 100% of everything, everywhere but that’s why I created my social media platforms, so I can always feel connected. The only time I want to pretend is in fun role playing sexual encounters or when it’s needed for the stage or tv but in all honesty, stage and tv are where I get to usually be my full self. The rest of the world and I feel many people walk around wearing masks, fearful of how they might be perceived. But let them see u. Once you’ve been seen and you realize that nothing happens, you’re free.
