I still grapple with the idea of time. I still believe it is a construct that often devalues the human experience. When I was a young boy, I had a favorite aunt. Whenever she would come over it was the highlight of my day but she had a habit of saying she was coming and would never show. 30 min went by, 1 hour, 2 hours and I would finally accept that this wasn’t going to happen. My little heart was broken but what it didn’t do, was take away from the next moment she came because time with her was so precious that I didn’t want to spend a moment of it being upset. I was just happy to have her there. I often talk about being late for things because I don’t tend to see the 10,15, or 20 min lost but the 40,60,80 min spent. At the end of the day, for me, it’s about the human experience.
